Overview

Responsible for daily homemaking tasks of laundry, bed making, cleaning, and dishes. Also responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the cottage and ensuring that visitors, residents, families, and staff have a positive impression.  Additional duties include cleaning of common areas, project cleaning and seasonal cleaning duties as assigned.  Support care team in other duties as needed, such as activities or dining.  This position is full time 12:00pm-8:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent & quality work to the residents and staff
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Follow job routines and instructions according to the assigned homemaker schedule.
  • Assure resident apartment and laundry are clean and sanitized as scheduled.
  • Handle laundry per appropriate instructions, sort and put away accurately.
  • Maintain inventory for daily needs & notify supervisor of supply issues.
  • Assist in keeping all common areas neat, clean and safe.
  • Follow the daily schedule to ensure all tasks are accomplished in a timely manner.

 

          Cleaning duties included but not limited to:

  • Vacuuming hallways and furniture
  • Sweeping and/or mopping floors             
  • Cleaning and stocking supplies in restrooms            
  • Rubbish/trash removal               
  • Seasonal duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Basic housekeeping/cleaning experience
  • Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in the resident’s best interest.
  • Ability to motivate oneself and work independently
  • Ability to be flexible and to work with other staff and residents
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
  • Good work ethic
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.
