The Glenn in Minnetonka is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a part time Maintenance Technician their primary role will be painting and carpet cleaning. If you are looking to work with a great team at our beautiful facility please apply now. 

 

Job Objective(s):  Painting, Carpet shampooing, repair maintenance needs and completes assignments in a timely manner. Provide oversight and emergency response to all campus equipment and systems. To complete building and apartment inspections as required and assigned. Work with various agencies regarding codes and inspections.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Main responsibility will be painting and carpet shampooing.
  • Assist in maintaining all mechanical equipment, emergency systems, building fixtures and groundwork as needed.
  • Complete all work orders quickly and efficiently.
  • Report any problems/deficiencies to appropriate supervisor
  • Knowledgeable of building codes and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Interacts positively with all team members in maintaining census by immediately completing apartment turns
  • Maintain the grounds; trash, sweep, dumpster areas, snowplow, etc
  • Test the resident security systems as required.
  • Assist with custodial duties which include but not limited to; trash removal, carpet cleaning, etc.

Perform any maintenance task necessary as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to motivate oneself and work independently
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to relate to the elderly in a patient, compassionate and courteous manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.

Physical Requirements (based on essential responsibilities)

  • Move, push, pull and/or lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Use hands and arms for simple grasping, pushing and pulling to sweep, mop, use containers of cleaning solution/chemicals, etc.
  • Perform tasks requiring actions of muscles or groups of muscles to walk, stoop, bend, lift, and to carry objects
  • Walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Speak clearly and make self understood in face-to-face interactions
  • See objects closely to read directions, instructions, chemical warnings, etc.
  • Hear normal sounds and voices with some background noise to receive verbal instructions, answer telephones, communicate with others, etc.
  • Climb ladders, to work in warm areas.

 

 

Environment: The position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions including temperature changes and outside weather conditions.

 

Working Hours: Shifts are generally assigned but the employee must have the ability to work various shifts Monday- Friday, on call at times.
